Dr Dimitris Apostolou is Professor in the Informatics Department of the University of Piraeus and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems. He has published 4 books and more than 140 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, has 3 best papers awards, sits on the editorial board of 3 international journals and has served as co-chair or Program Committee Member in more than 30 international conferences. His research concerns decision support, knowledge management and intelligent information systems. He has long-term experience in ICT research through his participation in more than 30 European research and development projects. He has also ten-year experience in management and technology consulting. He holds a PhD on electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, an MSc in information technology from University College London, UK, an MSc in chemical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA.
