Dimitris Apostolou is an Assistant Professor in the Informatics Department of the University of Piraeus and senior researcher in the Institute of Information and Computer and Communication Systems at the National and Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He holds a PhD on knowledge management and decision support from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NTUA, an MSc in IT with distinction from Univeristy College London, UK, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA, and a Diploma Degree in Chemical Engineering from NTUA. He has an extensive experience as a management consultant. Dimitris is currently working in a number of research projects developing technological infrastructures that aim to leverage knowledge sharing, both at an enterprise and at an-inter-enterprise level. In the past he has participated in research and consulting projects in the areas of Geographical Information Systems, Data Warehousing and OLAP applications, Business Process Modeling as well as projects dealing with the technical analysis of energy and environmental systems.
