Dr Babis Magoutas is a post-doctoral researcher at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he is currently working in research projects. He holds a PhD in adaptive information systems (2010), an MBA in techno-economic systems (2006) and a diploma degree in electrical and computer engineering (2003), all from NTUA. During his studies he was awarded with two excellent performance scholarships from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. His PhD dissertation examined methods for adaptive evaluation of electronic services. His current research interests include adaptive systems and personalization, information systems evaluation, situation awareness, event-driven computing, semantic web and collective intelligence. He has worked for four years for the Greek Ministry of Development in the context of the Go-online Programme, where he was responsible for training and consulting Greek SMEs on issues related to new technologies and e-commerce. He has also worked as a software engineer at Intracom SA, while during his military service he worked as a software engineer in the Centre of Information Technology Support of the Greek Army (KEPYES). Finally he has participated as an assistant in the undergraduate teaching process of the Management Information Systems and Managing the Digital Enterprise courses at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA.
